Atlassian Lays Off 1,600 Employees Amid AI Adoption

Tech firm Atlassian is cutting 1,600 jobs, about 10% of its workforce, as it adapts to the growing use of artificial intelligence in the industry. The layoffs come as part of a broader trend among companies to reduce staff due to post-Covid economic slowdowns and increased competition from automation. Australian billionaire co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes revealed the plan through an internal memo, while also announcing his chief technology officer’s departure.
