AT&T Stadium Braces for Potential Snowfall Ahead of Big College Football Game

A winter storm warning has been issued for Dallas, where Texas and Ohio State will face off in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. The National Weather Service expects an “impactful snowfall” to begin Thursday morning and last until Thursday night. With temperatures expected to approach 40 degrees by Friday, melt is predicted to start then. However, getting to the game could be a challenge due to potential snow and ice.

The stadium’s retractable roof should keep players from being affected by weather conditions during the game itself. Nevertheless, fans may still face difficulties in traveling to AT&T Stadium. In 2011, a similar storm caused ice to fall and injure six people just two days before Super Bowl XLV. While tweaks have been made to the roof to prevent such incidents in the future, Mother Nature remains unpredictable.

With no option to postpone the game, players and fans will need to prepare for potential disruptions due to the weather. The outcome of the event may not affect AT&T Stadium’s ability to host another Super Bowl in the future, despite any inconvenience caused by this week’s game.
