AT&T Unveils Stricter Return-to-Office Policy Requiring Full-Time On-Site Work

AT&T is revising its return-to-office policy to require employees to work on-site full-time, five days a week, starting next month. This move comes after the company previously accommodated a hybrid schedule for its office workers.

The change affects thousands of employees who had chosen between relocating or finding new jobs due to the previous requirement. Approximately 18,000 management employees opted to return to one of nine corporate hubs across the US.

In contrast to Amazon’s recent delay in its five-day office mandate due to capacity issues, AT&T is enhancing its facilities and workspaces as part of this policy change. The company is also expanding its presence in Atlanta, where it has signed a lease for two previously vacated office buildings.

This decision comes amid growing concerns over workspace shortages at some locations. The shift in AT&T’s return-to-office strategy may impact the trend of employers requiring workers to spend more time in the office, with some companies having settled into hybrid setups.
