Aubrey Plaza Honors Late Husband Jeff Baena with Heartfelt Tribute

Aubrey Plaza and late filmmaker Jeff Baena had separated before his death in January, according to a recent autopsy report from the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner. The report revealed that Baena had been attending therapy since October after making “concerning remarks” that prompted a welfare check.

Baena and Plaza began dating in 2011 and collaborated on numerous projects during their careers. He made his directorial debut with Life After Beth in 2014, followed by Joshy in 2016, and The Little Hours in 2017. Their final film together was Spin Me Round, a dark comedy released in 2022.

Plaza paid a subtle tribute to Baena during her appearance at SNL50: The Anniversary Special, wearing a tie-dye shirt that held sentimental value for the couple. They got married “on a whim” while staying at home during the quarantine and had gotten into tie-dyeing as a hobby.
