The NCAA men’s tournament bracket has been released for the 2025 season, with Auburn earning the coveted No. 1 seed after winning the SEC regular season and producing a strong overall record despite some late-season struggles.
Auburn secured its top spot thanks to a remarkable 28-5 record while playing the nation’s second-hardest schedule. The team’s impressive résumé features 16 Quad 1 wins, making it the nation’s most in the country. Despite losing to Duke in December and historically dominant teams like Florida and Tennessee, Auburn has earned its place as the No. 1 overall seed.
The top seeds across the four regions are Duke (East), Houston (Midwest), Florida (West), and Michigan State (South). North Carolina and Texas made it into the tournament after surviving their wait on the bubble, while Indiana did not secure an invitation.
Notably, West Virginia was left out of the tournament despite having a strong season. The state governor threatened legal action over the omission, citing concerns about the selection process. However, the NCAA’s seeding committee has already released its final bracket, with Auburn taking center stage as the No. 1 seed.
