The Indiana Fever have signed Australian forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract, bolstering their roster ahead of the second half of the season. Bibby, 6-foot tall, played five games for the Golden State Valkyries this season, averaging 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Her best performance came on June 19 against the Fever, where she scored a season-high 12 points with three three-pointers.
Bibby’s skills, which include spacing the floor and rebounding, align with the Fever’s playing style. Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase praised Bibby, saying “she fits in really well” as a big player who can space the floor while also being physical on defense.
The 28-year-old has extensive international experience, including winning the FIBA Asia World Cup with the Australian national team and earning MVP honors in Poland and Spain. She played college basketball at Mississippi State and Maryland before turning pro overseas.
Bibby’s primary goal is to compete, stating “I think over the years… I feel confident with that [her shot].” With an open roster spot due to salary cap restrictions, the Fever have taken advantage of a seven-day contract to bring in Bibby for a short-term stint.
