The popular speedrunning event, Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), is back for its annual winter gaming marathon from January 5 to January 12. This year’s event will raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation and feature a wide range of games, including Horizon: Forbidden West, The Last of Us, and Silent Hill II remake.
The event will see over three dozen groups and individual speedrunners participate, with segments running around the clock throughout the week. While some participants aim to complete an entire game or specific portion as quickly as possible, others have more creative approaches, such as playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild with two players sharing a controller.
Games Done Quick has hosted marathons for 15 years, raising $51.8 million for global charities like Doctors Without Borders and AbleGamers. The event will stream live on its Twitch channel, and the full schedule can be found on the AGDQ website.
