The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) nominations were announced this morning, with Focus Features’ Conclave dominating multiple categories with 12 total nominations. Emilia Pérez came in close second with 11 nominations, including a historic nomination for trans actress Karla Sophia Gascón.
Several notable shows have received recognition, including Wicked, Anora, and The Brutalist, which may suggest an increase in Oscar nominations later this month. However, some high-profile actresses, such as Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, and others, are noticeably absent from the nominations list.
