Baldur’s Gate 3 Celebrates Second Anniversary with Surprising Stats

Baldur’s Gate 3 has reached its second anniversary, and developer Larian has released some surprising statistics to mark the occasion. The studio revealed that 2.07% of players managed to defeat twenty opponents while drunk, a feat that will likely be in-game intoxication. Additionally, 3.87% of Steam players defeated Gortash in Wyrm’s Rock without activating any traps, compared to 4.37% on Xbox and PlayStation.

The game has seen significant player engagement, with over 1.1 million players completing the game in Tactician Mode, one of its highest difficulty settings. Almost half a million players attempted to complete the game in Honour Mode, which features tougher bosses and stricter rules. Notably, 4,647 players beat Honour Mode with a Level 1 character, while 31,180 players achieved this feat as a Jack of All Trades.

Larian also shared some personal moments from its community, including 8.21% of players who thought to use an enemy as an improvised weapon against another and 598 players who adopted a child with Wyll. The developer has also celebrated 265 million mod downloads since the release of Patch 7, with over 250,000 of those being “Big Naturals,” a mod that gives Withers breasts.

In a social media post, studio founder Swen Vincke reflected on the game’s impact, saying, “Crazy to think it’s only been two years. It’s truly been life changing.” While he did not reveal details about Larian’s next project, he assured fans that it will be worth waiting for and promised a “surprising” experience.
