Baldur’s Gate 3’s Final Patch Released on April 15th

Larian Studios has finally set a release date for Baldur’s Gate 3’s last major update, Patch 8. The long-awaited patch is launching next Tuesday, April 15th, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. This massive content update includes new subclasses, cross-play capabilities, and other significant features.

Patch 8 was first announced in November and promised several major additions, including split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S and a photo mode. However, Larian initially planned to test the patch publicly before its full release to identify any potential issues. The testing process began at the end of January and is now nearing completion.

As part of the update’s arrival, Larian will host a special Twitch stream on April 16th to showcase the new subclasses. Additionally, the game will be discounted by 20% on Steam until April 21st, making it an attractive option for those looking to join the Baldur’s Gate 3 community.

While Larian is moving on to its next project, the studio’s success with Baldur’s Gate 3 has sparked interest in a potential sequel. Wizards of the Coast, the owner of Dungeons & Dragons, is reportedly discussing a new Baldur’s Gate game with several partners, although they stress that there is no rush to create another instalment.
