Ballistic Missile Hits Israel, US Strikes Back in Yemen

A ballistic missile fired from Yemen on Friday night triggered red alert sirens across Israel, but no injuries were reported. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) intercepted the missile before it entered Israeli territory. However, fragments of the interception fell in the town of Dhahiriya near Hebron.

The incident is the third time this week that Houthi rebels have targeted the Jerusalem area, following a two-month pause. On Thursday, a missile fired by the Houthis injured 13 people who were heading to protected rooms and caused panic attacks among three others.

In response to the attack, Ben-Gurion Airport has been grounded and closed for landings. The US has also launched airstrikes on Yemen’s capital city, Sanaa, for the fifth consecutive day. The Houthi rebels claim they targeted Ben-Gurion Airport with a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile.
