A top Baltimore police commander, Maj. Jai Etwaroo, is among four officers suspended amid a criminal investigation in California. The investigation was led by the San Francisco Police Department and no charges have been filed yet. Etwaroo, who leads one of the city’s nine police districts, has 12 years of experience with the department. This comes after two other Baltimore police officers were recently charged with crimes, including attempted murder and a blackmail scheme involving a state senator.
