Barcelona Rout Betis 5-1 in Copa del Rey Win

Barcelona bounced back from its Spanish Super Cup final win over Real Madrid with a convincing 5-1 victory over Real Betis in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday. The Catalan club dominated the match, scoring goals from Gavi and Jules Koundé in the first half-hour, followed by additional strikes from Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal.

This win marked Barcelona’s fourth straight victory in 2025, with Dani Olmo providing an assist for Gavi’s opening goal. The team’s impressive performance secured a spot in the quarterfinals. However, two of Barcelona’s goals were initially disallowed due to offside calls by video review.

Betis’ only goal came from Vitor Roque’s penalty kick in the 84th minute. Raphinha broke the scoreless drought with his goal in the 58th minute, while Torres sealed the win in the 67th. Yamal added the final touch in the 75th.

The victory comes ahead of Barcelona’s next match against Atletico Madrid, which is scheduled to extend its record winning streak.
