Barcelona has claimed the 2023 Supercopa de España title with a convincing 5-2 victory over Real Madrid. The Catalan side dominated the match from start to finish, thanks to individual brilliance and clinical finishing.
French superstar Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring for Barcelona just five minutes into the game. However, Lamine Yamal equalized in the 17th minute, setting the tone for Barça’s dominant performance.
Robert Lewandowski put his side ahead from the penalty spot in the 36th minute, and Raphinha sealed the deal with two goals, including a stunning individual effort. Alejandro Balde capped off the rout with a late goal in added time.
Real Madrid’s hopes of staging a dramatic comeback were dashed when goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny was sent off in the 60th minute. Despite this setback, Rodrygo managed to pull one back for Real Madrid from the penalty spot before halftime. However, it was too little, too late as Barcelona extended their record haul of Supercopa triumphs to 15.
