Basketball Star Caitlin Clark Stalked by Texas Man

Caitlin Clark, 22-year-old WNBA star, has been targeted by a 55-year-old man who sent her threatening messages on X. Michael Lewis, of Denton, Texas, was arrested at an Indianapolis hotel and faces up to six years in jail if found guilty.

According to court documents, Lewis sent messages that included elements of sexual violence, which made Clark fear for her safety. She changed her public appearances after receiving the messages. Police traced Lewis to the hotel, where he claimed to be in an “imaginary relationship” with Clark and said his behavior was a joke.

Despite police warnings, Lewis continued to message Clark. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears condemned the stalking case, stating that it takes courage for victims to come forward. He praised Clark for setting an example for other women who deserve to live and work without fear of sexual violence.

Clark’s success in the WNBA has been impressive. She was the No 1 overall pick in last year’s draft, named rookie of the year, and signed a reported $28m sponsorship deal with Nike.
