The Battlefield 6 Open Beta has come to an end, but the developers are already making changes based on player feedback. The updates aim to address concerns that the gameplay felt too fast and chaotic, likened to Call of Duty. The changes include reduced horizontal momentum carried from sliding into jumping, lower jump heights with consecutive jumps, and a greater inaccuracy penalty.
The physics of parachutes have also been tweaked, reducing their initial acceleration to improve directional control. DICE says these changes are designed to make sliding and jumping more situational and contribute to a gameplay pace that rewards skillful movement without becoming too fast or unpredictable.
Additionally, the developers are making weapon tweaks to deliver a more consistent and rewarding gunplay experience. Some changes have been made to encourage a more disciplined trigger finger with tap and burst-firing, while others aim to improve the M87A1 shotgun’s performance.
The team has also acknowledged criticism about the Rush mode being too small, but they’re sticking to their 12v12 format for now. However, they plan to patch exploits that players took advantage of to reach out-of-bounds areas and make map-specific balance adjustments for Breakthrough mode.
Other changes include team and squad deathmatch modes with smaller player counts, Domination and King of the Hill with small 8v8 teams, and a Custom Search feature. The game is available to preorder now across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (Steam, Epic Games, EA), and PS5 for $69.99.
