Battlefield 6’s open beta has started generating buzz before its official launch, with thousands of players already logging in on Steam. According to Insider Gaming, the game reached a peak concurrent player count of 9,463 on Monday, August 4 – just days after preloading began.
The massive spike in users is largely due to people who are waiting for servers to go live. The open beta won’t officially start until August 7, but fans have taken advantage of preloading options available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the EA app to get a head start.
While Steam numbers only represent a fraction of the total audience, it’s clear that the game is generating significant interest. The full game is set to launch on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, about a month before Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 rumored launch date.
A select group of players will get access to the beta ahead of time, including those who signed up for Battlefield Labs, EA Play Pro members, and Twitch streamer viewers. The full beta opens up to everyone from August 9-10, followed by a second weekend from August 14-17.
