Battlefield 6 Focuses on Realistic Gameplay Over Crossover Skins

Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE have made it clear that their upcoming game, Battlefield 6, will avoid incorporating goofy crossover skins in favor of a more grounded and realistic approach to visuals.

According to Shashank Uchil, the design director for Battlefield 6, the game aims to return to its roots with a focus on soldiers on the ground. The key art for the game features soldiers in combat gear looking out over a war-torn New York City, setting the tone for a more realistic gameplay experience.

The game will retain some familiar features from previous titles in the franchise, such as the ability to steal dog tags during melee kills. However, it will also introduce significant changes to fundamental systems, including the ability of every class to access all weapons, rather than being restricted to a limited selection.

Uchil explained that this change will allow players to pick the right weapons for their class, taking into account the passive perks and abilities associated with each one. This system aims to make gameplay more strategic and easier to manage.

A upcoming open beta test for Battlefield 6 will feature both the new system and the old class-based system, allowing players to experience the changes firsthand. With its focus on realistic gameplay and strategic weapon selection, Battlefield 6 is set to provide a fresh take on the franchise’s signature gameplay.
