Battlefield 6 dataminers have uncovered a launch map nearly four times larger than the Siege of Cairo map, which was previously criticized for its small size in the beta. The news comes after players expressed disappointment with the maps’ compactness, feeling it resembled Call of Duty’s smaller maps.
The Battlefield community has voiced their discontent over the game’s initial beta, describing it as “not how Battlefield should be.” However, a group of dataminers has provided reassurance by revealing larger maps through files from Battlefield Labs. Mirak Balley and Eastwood are two post-launch maps that boast sizes quadruple and roughly double the size of Cairo, respectively.
The lead developer’s response to criticism emphasizes the importance of experiencing smaller and medium-sized maps in previous games like BF3 and BF4 to get a feel for “the intensity curve.” This implies that larger maps might be more suitable for the franchise. Despite this, it remains unclear why the smallest maps were frontloaded into the beta.
Dataminers have provided a surprise twist on Battlefield 6’s map sizes, contradicting the initial beta experience. With two massive post-launch maps revealed, fans can look forward to a more extensive gameplay environment in the full release of the game.
