Battlefield 6 Set for October Release with $80 Price Tag

EA is set to reveal its next Battlefield game, officially titled Battlefield 6, in just a few hours. According to a noted leaker, Dealabs’ Billbil-kun, the game is expected to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with two editions: standard ($79.99) and special Phantom ($109.99). The PC version will reportedly be cheaper.

Pre-orders are set to go live on July 31, but there’s no early access for any edition. Standard owners can upgrade to the Phantom version at any time for $29.99. An open beta is also confirmed, allowing players to choose between open and closed weapons playlists.

Battlefield 6’s campaign takes place in a near-future setting where NATO is under attack. The game has been in development since 2021 and has seen early concept art and closed testing. Developer DICE claims to have received “loads of feedback from the active testers” and seems pleased with fan reactions, which have been generally positive.

The game features new mechanics, including a drag mechanic and improved vehicle handling, as well as quality of life improvements and a battle royale mode. The open beta is expected to launch soon, allowing players to test the game before its full release in October.
