Battlefield 6 UI Redesign: Let’s Keep it Simple

Battlefield 6’s menus have been met with criticism from players, with many feeling that the streaming service-style layout is cluttered and difficult to navigate. I’m one of those players who has joined the chorus of discontent.

The main menu’s curated playlist feature, which showcases a horizontal scrolling list of TV shows, was an instant turn-off for me. As someone trying to queue up for a match of closed weapons Rush, I found myself swiping through endless options instead of simply selecting my desired game mode.

This isn’t the only issue – the loadout screen and settings page are also marred by tile-based menus that are awkward on mouse controls. It’s no wonder Reddit user Oninyourfly’s redesigned menu has gained popularity among fans, featuring a cleaner, more intuitive design reminiscent of older Battlefield games.

While I appreciate the developer’s willingness to make changes based on feedback, I’m not convinced we’ll see a complete overhaul anytime soon. The “default smart TV app” interface is becoming increasingly prevalent in gaming, and Call of Duty has already been mocked for its similar approach.

The one bright spot in this UI mess is the in-game HUD, which remains largely unchanged from previous games. However, it’s clear that Battlefield 6 needs to do better – players deserve a more streamlined experience that prioritizes gameplay over cluttered menus.
