Baylor Football Star Alex Foster Dies After Shooting

Alex Foster, a 17-year-old defensive lineman from St. Joseph Catholic-Greenville, died after being shot in Greenville, South Carolina. He was just an hour into summer break when police found him with multiple gunshot wounds in his car on May 28. The victim died 35 minutes later at the hospital.

Foster played high school football for St. Joseph Catholic-Greenville and was a standout player, earning All-State honors in 2023. He was set to return to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, this weekend after summer break.

Baylor athletics released a statement expressing their sadness over Foster’s death, saying they drew strength from their faith and community. The school also offered condolences to Foster’s family and teammates.
