Bears Escape from Devon Wildlife Park and Make Off with Honey

Two European brown bears escaped from their enclosure at Wildwood Devon wildlife park on Monday, causing a surprise for visitors. The bears, Mish and Lucy, enjoyed a week’s worth of honey before being safely returned to their home by the keeper team.

The incident was monitored closely via CCTV, and police were called in as a precaution. Despite initial concerns, no danger was posed to the public, but all visitors were escorted to a secure building. The park has assured that an investigation is underway to determine how the bears escaped.

Mish, a male bear weighing up to 650kg, and Lucy, a female weighing around 250kg, had previously been rescued from a snow drift in Albania in 2019.
