Game Freak, the renowned developer behind Pokémon, is taking a break from the iconic franchise to bring players an immersive post-apocalyptic RPG titled Beast of Reincarnation. Scheduled for release in 2026, the game marks Game Freak’s latest project and promises to deliver an engaging experience.
Set in a world ravaged by a beast-born blight, players take on the role of Emma the Sealer, accompanied by her canine companion Koo, as they navigate through a desolate wilderness. The game features demanding technical combat and an emphasis on exploration, with the ultimate goal of saving humanity from the spreading sickness.
Originally announced as “Project Bloom,” Game Freak’s latest project has undergone a name change before its formal debut at the Xbox Games Showcase. The studio is now working closely with Fictions, a new publisher, after the Take-Two label that initially signed the game was sold in 2024.
Beast of Reincarnation will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a release date set for 2026. Players can also expect to access the game through Xbox Game Pass at launch, making it an attractive option for those looking to explore this new IP.
