Belal Muhammad Sets Sights on Middleweight Championship

UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad has set his sights on the middleweight division, expressing his desire to move up and challenge for the title. In an appearance on The Stretch podcast, Muhammad stated that he would rather face a 185-pound opponent, allowing UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev to take the 170-pound belt.

Muhammad, who is currently on a six-fight winning streak, believes he has the skills and talent to compete at middleweight. He pointed out his impressive record, having defeated five Top 10 opponents in the welterweight division. With two more victories, Muhammad predicts he could challenge for the Middleweight Championship against Dricus du Plessis or whoever holds the title.

Muhammad also offered bold comments on the current state of the middleweight division, stating that he thinks 185 is an “easier” weight class to fight in, except for one notable exception. His confidence and ambition have generated buzz around his potential future moves, leaving fans eager to see if he can back up his claims with a successful title bid.
