Belgian Parties Agree on Coalition Government After Months of Negotiations

Belgian politicians have reached a breakthrough after months of negotiations, paving the way for Flemish nationalist Bart De Wever to become prime minister. The agreement brings together five parties and marks a significant step towards healing deep divisions within the country.

According to Conner Rousseau, president of Vooruit, one of the parties in the new government, the deal represents a major achievement after seven long months of negotiations. Rousseau expressed confidence that the parties had bridged significant gaps, stating that many people will be proud of their willingness to make decisions despite potential criticism and fake news.

However, the agreement is not yet final, as negotiators must still seek official approval from their respective parties to confirm the deal.
