Belichick Considered for UNC Head Coaching Job Amid Retirement Speculation

Bill Belichick, 72, is reportedly being eyed for the University of North Carolina’s head coaching job, according to a new report from Inside Carolina. This would mark Belichick’s first stint in college football, following nearly five decades in the NFL.

The legendary coach parted ways with the New England Patriots after last season, which was his 24th with the team. During his tenure, he won six Super Bowls and notched another pair with the New York Giants as their defensive coordinator.

Belichick’s interview for the UNC job comes amid speculation about his future in coaching. He previously interviewed for openings with the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers but did not secure either position. Belichick has since become a media sensation, making appearances on “Monday Night Football” and serving as an analyst during this year’s NFL Draft.

The University of North Carolina is set to replace another coaching legend, Mack Brown, who owns a 288-155-1 record with the school.
