Bell Clinches Martinsville Cup Pole Ahead of Hendrick Contingent

Christopher Bell has secured the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway, edging out a strong Hendrick Motorsports contingent. Bell earned his first pole of the season and 14th in his Cup career with a lap speed of 96.034 mph.

Hendrick dominated the top spots, with Chase Elliott taking second place, followed by Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson. Denny Hamlin qualified fifth, while Casey Mears will start from the rear of the field, marking his first Cup start since the 2019 Daytona 500.

Bell’s pole comes after a week of struggles at Homestead, where he finished 29th after spinning and damaging his car. The driver expressed frustration with his performance, stating that if his team executes correctly, they can overcome even the toughest days.
