Gibbs, an NFL coach with three Super Bowl wins and NASCAR team owner, believes he’s seen this dynamic before in football teams where there’s great camaraderie and confidence among players.
Bell has demonstrated his ability to win on different tracks, most recently snatching victory from Kyle Busch in Austin and then holding off Daytona 500 winner William Byron. The key to success was clean racing, with Bell and Busch avoiding a confrontation that could have led to another incident.
The series heads to Phoenix, where Bell is the defending champion, and then Las Vegas. Crew chief Adam Stevens shares Gibbs’ confidence in the team’s abilities and expects them to be competitive at both tracks.
For Bell, the win in Austin marked his 11th career victory and third on a road course, cementing his status as one of the top drivers this season.
