Actress Jill Jacobson, best known for her roles in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ and the classic film ‘Splash,’ has died at the age of 70. She passed away on December 8 at a Los Angeles hospital after a long illness.
Jacobson’s career spanned television and film, with notable appearances on popular shows such as ‘Falcon Crest’, ‘The New Gidget’, ‘Murphy Brown’, and ‘Hung’. Her breakthrough role came in the cult classic film “Nurse Sherri”, which led to her portrayal of Jill Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Jacobson’s comedy timing was praised by her co-star Caryn Richman, who called her a “brilliant” comedian. She was also known for her love of life and infectious enthusiasm, earning her the nickname “Jilly” among close friends.
A dedicated volunteer, Jacobson worked with the American Cancer Society and received awards for her charity work. She is survived by numerous relatives, friends, and her beloved dogs, Benny and Kowalski.
