Beloved ‘Full House’ Actress Alice Hirson Dies at 95

Veteran actress Alice Hirson, best known for her role as Bob Saget’s mother on the popular sitcom Full House, has passed away at the age of 95 due to natural causes. According to her son David Hirson, she had been staying at a hospital in Los Angeles for over a year.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1929, Hirson began her acting career on Broadway, making her debut in 1964’s Traveller Without Luggage. She went on to appear in numerous TV shows and films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including Maude, The Waltons, Family, and Blind Date.

Hirson had a recurring role as Lois Morgan on Ellen from 1994-1998 and starred in Home Fires, a NBC sitcom. She also appeared in several episodes of 7th Heaven and General Hospital.

In addition to her work on Full House, Hirson is survived by her two sons, David and Christopher, and a grandson. Her son, a Broadway playwright, remembered his mother as a dedicated stage actress who prioritized her family life despite working long hours on TV.
