Ben Affleck’s crime thriller “Animals” is coming back together after script issues were resolved. Matt Damon was initially set to star in the film but dropped out to work on another project. The new cast includes actress Gillian Anderson, who will join Affleck and himself in the movie.
The film revolves around a mayoral candidate and his wife, whose son is kidnapped. The couple must navigate their way through enemies both political and personal to rescue their child.
Affleck has previously shown his versatility as an actor and director by starring in “The Town” and directing the Oscar-winning “Argo”. He will produce “Animals” alongside Damon via their Artists Equity banner, along with Dani Bernfeld, Brad Weston, Collin Creighton, Michael Joe, Kevin Halloran, and Lucy Damon. The production company Fifth Season will also be involved.
Gillian Anderson is set to appear in the film, which aims for an April start and shoot primarily in Los Angeles.
