Ben Affleck has returned home to find that his $20 million mansion in Pacific Palisades survived a deadly LA wildfire. The 52-year-old actor and filmmaker, who had evacuated the property the night before, was spotted driving up to the house on Wednesday. Despite being in an evacuation area, the home appeared to still be standing.
Affleck had bought the mansion after his separation from Jennifer Lopez, and he had been helping others evacuate the area by taking his ex-wife and their children to safety at her home. The actor’s decision to return was met with relief as many Angelenos have been ordered to flee due to the ongoing wildfires.
However, Affleck is not out of the woods yet. Blustery winds are expected to continue whipping across Los Angeles, which could still ignite new fires. The fire has already caused destruction in other parts of the city, including Altadena and Hollywood.
The actor’s home was among those that were spared, but many other celebrities have lost their homes due to the fires, including Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins, Billy Crystal, Eugene Levy, James Woods, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag. The situation remains dire, with many residents still under evacuation orders.
