Bernhard Langer Wins PNC Championship Playoff with 18-Foot Eagle Putt

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie achieved his first hole-in-one on Sunday, but it was not enough to secure victory as Bernhard Langer won the playoff by making a clutch 18-foot eagle putt. The 67-year-old German golfer now has six titles in the PNC Championship and is on track for an 18th consecutive win on the PGA Tour Champions.

Langer and his son Jason, 24, dominated the competition in the scramble format, closing with a 15-under 57 to set the tournament record. The duo’s impressive performance was capped off by Langer’s winning putt, which left Woods and his son Charlie trailing behind.

Charlie, just 15 years old, made headlines with his first hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth hole. Despite ultimately losing the playoff, he said it was the most fun he has had on the golf course.

Woods, playing in his first tournament since a sixth surgery on his lower back in September, showed promising form, hitting key shots and delivering strong performances throughout the competition. However, Langer’s age advantage proved to be decisive in the playoff, as he played the third set of tees 82 yards ahead of Woods.

The PNC Championship is an annual event that brings together winners of major championships and The Players Championship, along with their family members. The tournament’s format has proven popular, with teams competing in a scramble format to create an entertaining and unpredictable competition.
