Beyoncé Teases NFL Halftime Performance with Netflix, Pokes Fun at Past Livestreaming Glitches

Beyoncé has released a teasing trailer for her upcoming NFL halftime performance on Netflix, which is set to air on Christmas Day. The video shows the singer strumming a banjo and singing her country-crossover hit “Texas Hold ‘Em.” However, just like past livestreams by Netflix, the trailer also includes a screen buffer, nodding to the streamer’s technical issues in the past.

The performance is being held at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game on Christmas Day, which marks Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston. This is her first full-length foray into country music and comes ahead of her upcoming album “Cowboy Carter,” which received 11 Grammy nominations this year.

Netflix has faced criticism in the past for technical issues during livestreams, including a delay in April 2023 and glitches last month. With Beyoncé on board, the stakes are high for a smooth streaming experience. The Ravens-Texans game begins at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT, with the performance set to start at some point after that.

Beyoncé’s halftime show will be broadcast on Netflix, and it is expected to air for approximately three hours before the stream expires.
