Jeff Bezos expressed his support for Donald Trump’s plans to cut regulation across the American economy, crediting him with growth since 2016. At a recent DealBook conference in New York, Bezos stated he is optimistic about Trump’s agenda and believes it has a good chance of success.
Bezos also attempted to address criticisms from Trump about the press, saying he doesn’t think the media is the enemy and that Trump needs to grow as well. He expressed a similar positive stance towards Elon Musk, stating he trusts Musk’s commitment to not using his political power to advantage his own companies or disadvantage competitors.
The decision by The Washington Post to stop endorsing presidential candidates has sparked controversy among journalists and former editor Marty Baron, with whom Bezos worked closely after buying the paper in 2013. However, Bezos defended his choice, saying it was a matter of conviction rather than fear of bad PR.
Bezos also discussed his views on space exploration through Blue Origin, stating he believes the company will one day be bigger than Amazon.
