Bezos Sells Seattle Mansion for Record-Breaking $63 Million

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has sold his Seattle-area mansion for a record-breaking $63 million, marking a rare departure from the city where Amazon was born. The 9,420-square-foot waterfront home in Hunts Point, purchased in 2019 for $37.5 million, was bought by Cayan Investments, a Delaware-registered company.

Bezos’ decision to sell comes as he prepares to move to Florida, which has become his new base of operations. He has spent around $400 million on real estate in the state and is following several other high-profile billionaires who have also relocated there due to its income tax-free status.

The sale marks a significant change for Bezos, who previously set multiple Seattle records as a buyer but now holds the record as a seller. The property’s original price was higher, with some estimates suggesting it could be worth $45 million after taxes were paid.
