Biden Climate Achievements Under Threat in Largest Rollback Effort

The US Energy Department is creating a list of clean energy projects that could be eliminated by the Trump administration, potentially undoing billions of dollars in climate investments under President Biden’s administration. The list, due to be submitted this week, includes projects funded under the Inflation Reduction Act and bipartisan infrastructure law.

According to DOE officials, any project spending less than 45% of its allocated or awarded funding must be reviewed. Initial projects on the list include hydrogen hubs ($8 billion), carbon capture hubs ($7 billion), industrial demonstrations ($6.3 billion), and other initiatives totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.

The Trump administration’s plan could significantly roll back Biden’s climate achievements, marking a significant shift in US energy policy under the current administration.
