Big Box Retailers Expand Across US in 2025

Big box retailers Walmart, Target, Trader Joe’s, and Costco plan to open new stores across the US in 2025. The retail giants expect to add locations in over 10 states, including California, Texas, Michigan, and more.

Walmart plans to open six Supercenters and three Neighborhood Markets in California, Texas, Alabama, and Florida. This includes locations in Mountain View, Eastvale, Cypress, Frisco, and Melissa in Texas, as well as Tuscaloosa, Milton, and Pace in Florida.

Target will add over 30 new stores nationwide, with at least three expected to open in 2025, including South Lake Tahoe, Surprise, and Denton. Trader Joe’s also plans to expand, with dozens of new locations set to open soon, including Northridge, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, Seattle, Bellingham, Murfreesboro, Berwyn, Staten Island, Hoover, Washington DC, Rockville, and Maryland.

Costco will open about 30 new locations in 2025, with six set to open in March, including Brentwood, Genesee County, Highland, Prosper, Sharon, and Weatherford. The retail giants are expanding their presence across the US, bringing more shopping options for consumers.
