The US State Department has removed Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. from a planned $400 million armored electric vehicle (EV) purchase after reports surfaced about the item on a procurement document. The December forecast mentioned an “Armored Tesla” budget, set to span five years and start in 2025. This move comes as reports emerged of the company’s name being listed on the document by online publications Drop Site News and the New York Times.
