Bill Gates’ daughter, Phoebe Gates, has launched a new shopping app called “Phia”, which uses artificial intelligence to help users compare prices of clothing, shoes, and accessories. The app is available on iOS devices and as a browser extension for Google Chrome.
Once installed, users can click a “Should I Buy This?” button when browsing product pages, which will compare prices with new and used listings from various sources, including The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective, and eBay. Phia’s AI analysis also considers current market trends and compares them to a database of over 250 million used goods.
Phoebe Gates co-founded the app with Sophia Kianni, and it seems to focus on fashion and second-hand shopping, distinguishing itself from other price-comparison apps like Capital One Shopping and Rakuten. By offering users a range of affordable options, Phia aims to make thrift shopping more accessible and convenient.
