The world’s top billionaires scored their best-ever day on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump announced a pause on tariffs for some trading partners. The S&P 500 Index rose the most since 2008, wiping out recent losses and boosting the combined net worth of the world’s richest people by $304 billion. This represents an average gain of 3.5% for the top 500 billionaires. The Nasdaq Composite Index also saw its biggest surge in over 24 years as a result of Trump’s mid-day announcement.
