Billy Crystal Shares Heartbreaking Details of Los Angeles Home Loss

Actor and comedian Billy Crystal recently spoke out about the devastating loss of his Pacific Palisades home in the recent LA wildfires. Crystal was a presenter at the FireAid benefit concert on Thursday night, raising money for wildfire relief efforts.

The couple, who have lived in their home since 1979, were forced to evacuate on January 7th when the Palisades Fire ignited. Crystal shared that he wore the same blue hoodie and jeans for a week after fleeing his house, along with an N95 mask. The beloved home was destroyed on January 8th, leaving Crystal overcome with emotion.

One of the most touching moments came when Crystal’s daughters found one of their father’s decorative rocks, inscribed with words like “Welcome” and “Laughter”, still intact in the wreckage. This rock, known as the “Laughter” rock, served as a poignant reminder to find joy even in the midst of pain.

Crystal emphasized the importance of laughter during his emotional speech, saying, “Even in your worst pain, it’s okay and it’s important to laugh. It will be okay. We’ll laugh again. We’re Los Angeles. One city, one heart. L.A. Strong.”
