Bird Flu Brings Egg Prices Skyrocketing to Restaurants

The Bird Flu has had a significant impact on the food industry, particularly on restaurants and businesses that rely heavily on eggs. According to the Centers for Disease Control, over 133 million birds have been affected by the avian flu. This has led to an increase in egg prices, with some restaurants seeing costs double in less than three months.

Tracy Munden, owner of Fritella Italian cafe, reported that most menu items require eggs and that she has had to pay almost double the price for them. “It’s been really in the last 75 days when egg prices have skyrocketed,” she said. To cope with the rising costs, Munden plans to adjust her menu prices soon to keep up with the increasing egg prices. The impact of the Bird Flu on the food industry is being closely monitored by businesses and consumers alike.
