Bird flu cases have been reported in Lebanon and Lancaster counties, affecting nearly 200,000 birds, according to data from the US Department of Agriculture. The most recent outbreaks occurred on February 6 and 7 at commercial farms.
In total, there have been ten bird flu outbreaks reported this year, impacting over 1 million birds in Central PA. The affected areas include:
– A commercial broiler farm in Lebanon County with over 53,000 birds impacted
– A commercial egg layer farm in Lebanon County with 86,000 birds affected
– A duck meat farm in Lancaster County with 40,000 birds affected
– Two commercial flocks in Lancaster County with nearly 15,000 and 610 birds affected
