Pokémon GO is gearing up for its highly anticipated event, Pokémon GO Tour Unova: Global. For the first time ever, players will have the opportunity to encounter Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in the game. These two Ice-type Pokémon are set to make their global debuts during the event.
In addition to their exciting encounters, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will also bring new Adventure Effects to the game. For Black Kyurem, the new Adventure Effect is Freeze Shock, which will cast electrically charged ice for 10 minutes. This effect makes it easier to catch Pokémon, even those that are already weakened.
To use Freeze Shock, players will need 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy. The effect can be extended by using more Stardust and Kyurem Candy, but it cannot be used at the same time as another Adventure Effect.
White Kyurem’s new Adventure Effect is Ice Burn, which activates a chilling energy for 10 minutes. This effect slows down the target ring in Pokémon encounters, making it easier to land Excellent Throws.
Similar to Freeze Shock, Ice Burn can also be extended by using more Stardust and Kyurem Candy. However, like Freeze Shock, it cannot be used at the same time as another Adventure Effect.
Players who attended one of the in-person Pokémon GO Tour: Unova events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City will have access to these new Adventure Effects early. To use them, players must first fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with Kyurem.
Trainers can participate in five-star raids featuring Black Kyurem and White Kyurem to obtain Fusion Energy, which is required to use the new Adventure Effects. The event also features a special storyline called “It’s Not Over Yet,” which will be available starting on March 1, 2025.
Players who choose the correct badge during the event will receive themed Special Research rewards. Those who pick the Black Version (Reshiram) badge will receive Reshiram-themed rewards, while those who choose the White Version (Zekrom) badge will receive Zekrom-themed rewards.
The Tour Pass is a free progression track that offers rewards and bonuses based on levelling up ranks. Completing Pass Tasks and collecting Tour Points can earn players additional rewards and improve their event bonuses. The Tour Pass also features Major Milestones, which increase event bonuses when reached.
