BLACK SABBATH Farewell Concert Brings £20 Million Boost to Birmingham

BLACK SABBATH’s highly anticipated farewell concert, “Back To The Beginning,” is set to bring a significant boost to Birmingham’s economy, with estimates suggesting up to £20 million in revenue for the region’s visitor economy. The event, taking place at Villa Park on July 5, will be attended by fans eager to see Ozzy Osbourne perform one last time.

The concert is part of a larger celebration of music, sport, and food that will take over Birmingham from July 1-6. Other major events include the Men’s Second Test between England and India, Jeff Lynne’s ELO “The Over And Out Tour,” and the Godiva Festival. Hotel occupancy in Birmingham city center is expected to surge close to 90%, with visitors traveling from the UK and abroad to experience the region’s vibrant cultural scene.

“This is a special moment for Birmingham, which holds so much significance for Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH,” said Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and manager. “We’re thrilled to welcome thousands of fans to our city and showcase its strength as a live events destination.”

The West Midlands Growth Company estimates that the region will benefit from an increase in visitors, with up to 300,000 culture, sport, and food enthusiasts expected to attend events across Birmingham. The company’s “Summer Starts Here” campaign aims to promote the region’s unique spirit, showcasing its pioneering music scene, Michelin-starred restaurants, and iconic sporting venues.

With a range of exciting events lined up for the month of July, including Stevie Wonder’s “Love, Light & Song” concert and the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend, it’s clear that Birmingham is ready to shine on the global stage.
