BlackRock’s spot bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), has attracted over $25 billion in investor cash this year, ranking sixth among all ETFs despite posting a negative return. IBIT brought in more money than the top-performing gold ETF, GLD, which gained 65% in 2025.
In contrast to momentum-chasing investors, IBIT’s investors appear to be taking a long-term view. The fund has seen $25 billion in inflows so far this year, with Eric Balchunas of Bloomberg noting that the performance is “a really good sign long term.”
