Blake Lively has filed a legal complaint against co-star Justin Baldoni, alleging he engaged in sexual harassment and launched a smear campaign to destroy her reputation. The allegations come after a meeting in January where Lively brought her husband Ryan Reynolds to address the “hostile work environment” on set.
Lively accuses both Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios’ CEO Jamey Heath of engaging in inappropriate behavior towards her and others on the set. She made 30 demands, including no more mentions of their past addictions or graphic descriptions of their genitalia.
Baldoni’s team denies the allegations, calling them “categorically false” and stating that Lively threatened to derail the film unless her demands were met. However, Lively claims that a multi-tiered plan was in place to silence her and others who spoke out about the alleged misconduct.
The situation has sparked controversy, with some critics saying the film romanticized domestic violence. The allegations have led to speculation of a rift between Lively and Baldoni, which became public after they didn’t appear together on the red carpet.
Lively’s team says she hopes her legal action will help protect others who may be targeted by similar tactics.
