Actress Blake Lively is seeking a court order to keep sensitive personal and financial information confidential in her ongoing lawsuit against director Justin Baldoni. Lively alleges that Baldoni engaged in sexual harassment on the set of their film “It Ends With Us” and retaliated by launching an online smear campaign against her.
Lively’s lawyers claim that she and others involved in the case have received violent, profane, sexist, and threatening communications. One witness who supports Lively allegedly received a message threatening to assault and kill their family after texts were included in Baldoni’s amended lawsuit.
The actress is also facing “pornographic trolling on Instagram,” according to her lawyers. Lively’s proposed protective order would designate more information as confidential, including compensation details, profitability reports, ownership of companies, creative ideas, film scripts, photos, videos, and health records.
Lively and Baldoni are suing each other in federal court in New York over allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. Their lawsuit has sparked a public battle between the two sides over issues such as out-of-court statements, subpoenas, and now the protective order governing mutual discovery.
